Job Description Senior Geotechnical Engineer Intertek PSI, is searching for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our Building & Constructionteam in our Canton (Boston), Massachusetts office. The Senior Geotechnical Engineer will work from the local office and is responsible for handling more complex geotechnical reports, from inception to completion and through the proposal phase all the way to the reporting phase. The position will require that the candidate be responsible for reviewing reports prepared by other staff members and offer mentorship to more junior level staff. The position will also consist of an element of business development in which the candidate is expected to market Intertek/PSI to local clients in efforts to increase overall revenue for the local operation. What you’ll do: Responsible for overall management of geotechnical engineering services and ownership of project tasks, including P & L responsibilityProvide senior review of proposals and reports and ensure that commitments to clients are metExecute geotechnical project assignments including, engineering analysis and customized geotechnical reports with detailed descriptions and statementsSite Reconnaissance to assess site conditions and identify potential problems at the site through coordinated field visitsAbility to identify problematic soils such as fill material, alluvium, organics and ability to call for additional investigation such as test pits and borings, as neededUnderstanding of rock, rock coring, and rock descriptionClient relations and business development activitiesResponsible for the mentoring and training of staff technicians and engineersActively participate in professional and technical organization What it takes to be successful in this role: BS in Civil, Geological, or Geotechnical Engineering requiredMaster's degree highly desiredMinimum of 10 years of geotechnical engineering experience requiredManagement experience highly desiredExcellent understanding and knowledge of geotechnical engineering and related disciplines with the ability and desire to provide creative and practical solutions to meet the client’s needsProfessional Engineer (P.E.) registration in Massachusetts highly preferred or the ability to obtain one within first year of employmentEIT is requiredExperience working with gINT or similar software such as Open GroundExcellent communication and organizational skills are essentialMust speak and write English fluentlyValid Driver's License and reliable driving record required Why work for Intertek-PSI?
