Job Title: ControllerLocation: West Chester, PA Job Overview:Our client is a nonprofit organization seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to join our dynamic team. The Controller will play a critical role in managing the financial operations of the organization, ensuring the integrity of financial records, compliance with nonprofit regulations, and providing strategic financial insights to support the organization's mission. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, experience working with nonprofit organizations, and a passion for making a difference in the community. Key Responsibilities:Performs all tasks associated with the General LedgerPrepares timely and accurate monthly closing activities/reportsPrepares interim accounting reports and analysisPrepares annualized financial reports and forecastingAnalyzes financial reports and records, making recommendations relative to the accounting of reserves, assets and expenditures as appropriateDevelops and manages the fixed asset capitalization policyPrepares and provides proper oversight, verification, and control when necessary, of the entering of the journal entriesEvaluates subsidiary journal for errors and omissionsDevelops relationships as to banking, investments, and other banking services.Develops a bank reconciliation policy and prepares monthly bank reconciliationPrepares regulatory and sales tax reports ensuring compliance with established and approved guidelinesDevelops, coordinates and manages the external audit schedule and acts as the organizational liaisonTrains and supervises the business office staff in various levels of accounting with respect to their related financial workPreparation of the annual budget Qualifications:Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA designation preferred.Experience: Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 1-2 years in management.
